The Gathering, often highly creative and influental band from the Netherlands, came to fame in the second half of 1990s with its unique blend of atmospheric & progressive sound and the compelling vocals of the passionate Anneke van Giersbergen.


On June 5, 2007 it was announced that Anneke is going to leave The Gathering in August 2007 to focus on a new project and her family.
